Alex DeMeo's Race America

In Alex DeMeo's Race America for NES, players race coast-to-coast across the USA from Boston to Los Angeles in a Corvette. Gameplay involves high-speed driving at up to 200 mph, drag racing, wild road racing, and avoiding hazards like wipe-outs and spins. Players must shift gears manually using the control pad while holding gas, and can switch between side-view, rear-view, and overhead perspectives for different sections of the race. Single-player mode pits you against eight fictional computer-controlled opponents, while two-player mode allows direct competition in the same car model but different colors. Unique mechanics include a trailing window showing second-place positions, speedometer displays, and a nine-city journey across the country. The game stands out for its arcade-style racing variety and innovative perspective shifts on the NES hardware.
