Alex Kidd - The Lost Stars

Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars is a side-scrolling platformer where players control Alex Kidd, the Crown Prince of Aries, and his partner Stella as they navigate six distinct worlds to collect twelve miracle balls hidden in bizarre locations such as a toy world, machine world, make-believe world, water world, monster world, and the inside of a giant's body. Gameplay features basic jumping, running, and simple enemy attacks with a timer that acts as a health bar, replenished by items; levels end when the timer runs out or the goal is reached. The story involves Alex's ancestor Halifax Kidd defeating the ancient evil entity Ziggurat five thousand years ago to restore the stolen stars, with current antagonist Ziggurat threatening the constellation again; ancient wizard Daleda provides key lore. Characters include Alex Kidd, depicted as a short adventurous boy with large ears and a large taste for adventure, and Stella, his companion from the arcade version. What stands out is the vivid, imaginative level designs and strong Sega branding as the second entry in the Alex Kidd series, with voice samples on the Master System version adding personality.
