About the Game

Asterix is a 2D action platformer on SNES where the player controls Asterix, the Gaul warrior, to rescue his friend Obelix from Caesar's lions. Gameplay involves jumping and running through levels across Europe, fighting Romans and aggressive animals. There are 8 levels with stage select. Story is set in 50 BC Gaul, where Romans occupy the land except for a village protected by magic potion, and Obelix has been captured. Characters are Asterix (short, mustached Gaul) and Obelix (his friend). It stands out for faithful comic book art style and humorous tone, though graphics and controls have some delays.
