About the Game
Claymates is a platform game for the SNES where the boy Clayton is transformed by his scientist father's serum into a blob of clay after a witch doctor steals it. Clayton races through the backyard, Pacific, Japan, Africa, and outer space, transforming into one of five animals using clay samples to overcome levels: Muckster the Cat, Doh-Doh the Duck, Oozy the Mouse, Goopy the Guppy, or Globmeister the Chipmunk. Each animal has unique abilities like swimming, flying, or speed boosts, allowing adaptation to environments. Clayton must collect clay while avoiding hits in blob form and reaching the end of each level. Bosses include giant creatures like the puppy Sam. What makes it stand out is the clay animation style, fluid digitized sprites, clever animal-switching mechanics, and fun personality in levels and bosses.
