About the Game

Congo Bongo (known as Tip Top in Japan and Europe) is an isometric platformer developed by Sega and Ikegami Tsushinki. Players control Safari Sam, a red-nosed safari explorer whose tent was set on fire by the mischievous ape Bongo. The goal is to catch the gorilla and win revenge across four levels. Gameplay involves climbing ledges, jumping over gaps and waterfalls, avoiding falling coconuts, and dodging monkeys and other wildlife in a colorful jungle setting. Levels include Primate Peak (cliffs with monkey attacks) and Snake Lake (swamp crossing on hippos). It stands out as one of the earliest isometric 3D-style platformers on home consoles like the SG-1000, blending platforming with light action.
