About the Game

Guzzler is an arcade action game where players control a water creature that must douse fires around mazes to progress. At the start of each level, three different bonfires, some puddles, and the water creature (swollen with liquid) appear; approach a bonfire and press button 1 to spill water and put it out completely. The creature can use the water attack three times before depleting and refilling by walking through puddles or walking around the stage. Eventually, fire enemies emerge from the bonfires and chase the player, who can douse them too but more will come until all fires are extinguished. The game features three levels that repeat with faster enemies, adapting the classic arcade maze-chase formula. What makes it stand out is its simple but effective fire-extinguishing mechanic with a limited water supply, the creature's ability to spill and refill liquid, and the SG-1000/Othello Multivision port's implementation on the limited hardware.
