About the Game

Crystal Mines is a puzzle-platformer where you control the robot ROB as it mines valuable Starla crystals on a newly discovered planet. In a series of procedurally generated mine levels, collect required crystals while using energy balls to blast dirt, rocks, and enemies; avoid falling rocks, chain explosions, and oversized gingerbread men (slaves in a satirical metaphor). Unlock new weapons like TNT bombs and crushers after quota completion to access the next level. Story highlights ROB's taskmaster role and the ethical commentary on exploitation in the Color Dreams game. The 1989 NES version is unlicensed, simple yet addictive, with 28 hours of content across endless mine worlds.
