About the Game
Quinty is a puzzle/action game for the NES/Famicom where players control a blue or green boy in a vest and cap on a 7x5 grid of floor panels. The core mechanic involves flipping or shuffling adjacent panels to create paths, smash enemies into walls, or guide the character across the screen while collecting items toward the goal. Gameplay features single-player mode and cooperative two-player support, with nine stages each introducing unique enemy types like walking foes, jumpers, and splitting variants that force strategic repositioning and panel shuffling. The story follows protagonist Carton, who must rescue his girlfriend Jenny after she is kidnapped by his jealous younger sister Quinty and her army of living dolls in a whimsical fantasy setting. What makes it stand out is its innovative panel-flipping physics that blend arcade action with pure puzzle elements, all crafted as Game Freak's debut title before Pokémon.
