About the Game

X is a rail shooter developed by Kemco and published by Kemco for the Super NES in 1992. The player assumes the role of a super soldier in a flying power-armor suit tasked with destroying a malfunctioning bio-computer that has caused its global defense system X-TRA to declare war on humanity. Gameplay follows a linear path where you use the Super Scope light gun to rapidly fire a machine gun at incoming missiles and enemies while occasionally locking onto specific targets with a cursor to x-terminate larger threats. The game features four levels split into two areas, a single health bar with three continues, and heavy emphasis on intense action with minimal variations in enemy patterns. It stands out as the earlier 'X' series entry emphasizing raw shooting mechanics and X-TRA theme.
