About the Game

The Firemen is an action-adventure shooter for the SNES where players control firemen Pete and Daniel. Set in 2010 New York, a Christmas party at Metrotech Chemical Company erupts into flames fueled by explosive MDL, trapping civilians. Gameplay involves navigating burning buildings with top-down controls: aim the hose for long-range or close sprays (Y and B buttons), throw extinguishing bombs (X), and use Danny's axe for chopping. Pete is player-controlled while Danny provides invincible AI support; modes include rescuing trapped people, dodging hazards like collapsing walls and aggressive flames, and reaching objectives like securing MDL on the roof. Characters are Pete Grey (captain with blue mustache) and Daniel McClean. It stands out for cinematic disaster-story pacing, radio communication, and unique fire-as-enemy design.
