About the Game
Demolition Man is an action game based on the 1993 film, where players control John Spartan as he hunts the fugitive Simon Phoenix in a dystopian 1996 Los Angeles. Gameplay is primarily side-scrolling platform with two overhead top-down shooter segments; the character fires in eight directions. Stages are filled with many enemies, mostly gunmen, and player/enemy characters take hits before dying. There are teaser battles against Simon Phoenix before the final boss fight in the cryo-prison. It stands out with sampled speech from the film, fluid animations, effective bullet effects turning enemies to skeletons, and responsive controls ahead of its time for its genre on the Mega Drive.
