About the Game
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine is a falling block puzzle game set on the planet Mobius. Doctor Robotnik kidnaps bean-like creatures from Beanville and turns them into robot slaves using his Mean Bean-Steaming Machine to create an army that will eliminate fun and joy. Players control Has Bean, who must break into Robotnik's dungeons to free the kidnapped creatures. Gameplay involves two grid-based boards where colored beans (red, green, blue, yellow, violet) fall from the top in pairs; players match at least four of the same color to make them disappear, causing chain reactions and cascading drops. Grey refugee beans act as obstacles that can only be cleared by adjacent matches. Modes include Scenario Mode against AI opponents, 1P vs 2P multiplayer, and Exercise Mode. What stands out is its adaptation of the Japanese puzzle Puyo Puyo with Sonic the Hedgehog characters from the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog series, making it addictive yet challenging for puzzle fans.
