Gakkou de Atta Kowai Hanashi is a visual novel horror game for the SNES where you play as Shuichi Sakagami, a freshman reporter for the school newspaper. Gameplay involves selecting one of six storytellers to hear their personal tale about one of the Seven School Mysteries, then making dialogue and choice-based decisions that alter the outcome and branch the story. You explore scenarios through text with limited digitized photos for illustration. Story features six independent horror tales involving ghosts, murder, curses, and urban legends told by students in the school annex. Main characters include reporter Shuichi Sakagami, the six storytellers (Makoto Shindou, Shouji Arai, Nozomu Kazama, Tomoharu Hosoda, Akemi Iwashita, and Reiko Fukuzawa), and club president Sadao Hino.
