Custom Robo GX is an action RPG set in a futuristic world where players command customizable robotic warriors in intense 2D battles. Protagonist Takeshi (Hero) receives a new X-Ray Robo as a gift from his mother and teams up with friend Yusuke at the Robo Center. Gameplay involves collecting and customizing Custom Robos using parts like guns, bombs, and action chips on a 2D plane, battling opponents in Zero G Holosseums until their hit points reach zero. A standout feature is the strictly 2D battle style without legs, featuring pods replaced by sub-weapons and action chips. Story follows Takeshi winning tournaments, meeting Hitomi and police officer Mamoru, and investigating an incident while progressing through the plot by collecting Robos and battling.
