About the Game
Gyromite is a platformer developed by Nintendo and released in 1985. Players control Professor Hector, who collects dynamite in a lab while using R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy) to raise and lower red/blue pillars to clear paths. Smicks (lizard enemies) must be distracted with turnips. Controls include climbing vines and moving platforms; a sleepwalk mode allows automatic Professor movement. It stands out as one of the few NES games to utilize the R.O.B. accessory for gameplay mechanics.
