About the Game
HyperZone is a rail shooter for the SNES. You pilot a spaceship through themed asteroid worlds in 2089, when Earth is uninhabitable due to human ignorance. Navigate tracks while blasting enemies and bosses using your ship's lasers. The game stands out for its heavy use of SNES Mode 7 to simulate 3D depth and scaling, with you flying forward in a scrolling environment that creates indoor illusion. You move freely in all directions on a 2D plane but must stay on the track to avoid damage; health recovers at special zones. Power-ups upgrade your ship for increased firepower and speed, each with unique HUDs. There are 8 worlds and no traditional story or ending, making it a pure arcade-style endless runner focused on high-score shooting.
