Kawa no Nushi Tsuri 2

Kawa no Nushi Tsuri 2 is a fishing RPG where players travel a top-down map of Japanese countryside to catch various fish species like trout and bass using different rods and baits. The core mechanic is a timing-based mini-game: choose bait, cast the line, and alternate button presses to reel in and dodge the struggling fish. Players can switch between four characters, each with unique motives for catching the legendary River King. Random encounters involve combat against wildlife using a timing-based system where a dot indicates weak spots. No deep storyline, but villages with shops, inns, and family support for character progression. It stands out for its detailed fishing simulation mixed with RPG elements in a realistic Japanese river setting.
