About the Game

Maten no Soumetsu is a traditional turn-based Japanese RPG set in a medieval fantasy world. Players create and name their own customizable protagonist, a young boy found in the forest by the warrior Zafan. Zafan raises the boy as his adoptive son, but after Zafan's death at age 16 from monster attacks, the young hero is sent to the kingdom's king to pursue the warrior's path and uncover his true origins. The game features randomly appearing enemies fought in first-person turn-based combat, with joinable party members encountered along the journey. A day/night cycle affects gameplay, and the title is known for its notoriously high encounter rate in the unforgiving medieval setting.
