About the Game
Six months after stopping Dr. Wily, his backup Robot Masters activate and cause chaos. Mega Man pursues them, teams with mysterious robot Bass and his wolf Treble (later revealed as Wily's creations). Players control Mega Man on eight stages ending in Robot Master bosses. Defeating bosses unlocks special Master Weapons with stage-specific weaknesses. Mega Man slides, charges the Mega Buster, calls on dog Rush for tasks (including Rush Super Adaptor for rocket and jet abilities), and visits Auto's shop at the level select to buy upgrades with bolts. A secret multiplayer fighting mode is unlocked via password. The game stands out for introducing the bolt currency system, Auto the shopkeeper, and Bass as a rival character.
