About the Game

Muscle Bomber: The Body Explosion is a 1993 fighting game for the SNES, port of the arcade hit, where players control one of eight selectable pro wrestlers in one-on-one matches or team battles to win the championship belt. Gameplay uses a three-button system (grab, attack, jump) with each wrestler having unique moves, special attacks (one regular, one finisher during grapple), and life bars; matches end by pin (3-count) or submission. Modes include Single Match (vs CPU) and Team Battle Royale (up to 4 players, 2-on-2). Story is a wrestling tournament with no deep narrative, but characters have backstories. Selectable characters: Biff Slamkovich (Russian strongman), Gunloc (rival wrestler), The Great Oni (kabuki wrestler), Titan the Great (huge strongman), El Stingray (Mexican luchador), Mike "Macho" Haggar (ex-mayor from Final Fight), Sheep the Royal (Australian), and King Rasta Mon (feral with monkey pet). Bosses: Jumbo Flapjack and The Scorpion (unplayable in single mode). What makes it stand out is its hybrid wrestling-fighting style mixing Street Fighter mechanics with pro wrestling grapples, colorful character designs by Tetsuo Hara, brutal moves, and 4-player support, offering fun, accessible combat with a roster of eccentric, over-the-top wrestlers.
