About the Game
Joust is a side-scrolling platformer/action game for the NES where you control a knight riding a flying ostrich in a lava-filled cavern. Gameplay involves flying to defeat enemy knights on their birds by attacking when your lance is higher, with points awarded based on enemy type. Eggs drop from defeated foes that hatch into new enemies if not destroyed quickly. The story places you as a trapped knight battling waves of competitors in an endless quest for survival. Two players can cooperate or compete by attacking each other. What makes it stand out is the unique jousting combat, bouncing physics, and chaotic multiplayer battles in the classic NES library.
