About the Game

Outback Joey is a 2D action platformer for the Sega Mega Drive with the optional HeartBeat Personal Trainer accessory. Play as Joey, a kangaroo who lives peacefully with his family in northern Australia. Poachers invade and kidnap several family members, prompting Joey to embark on a journey to rescue them. Traditional platforming involves running, jumping, and avoiding obstacles across levels set in the Australian Outback. The HeartBeat system ties your real pulse sensor and game controls to the game character: faster heart rate boosts speed, while resting slows you down, encouraging physical activity. Create a player profile with name, age, and gender; health and progress data are tracked persistently. Only game released for the HeartBeat fitness system, blending fun platforming with real-world exercise for all ages.
