About the Game

Socket is a 2D side-scrolling action platformer developed by Vic Tokai for the Mega Drive. Players control the cybernetic android duck Socket, who must stop the villainous Time Dominator from stealing treasures from the past and corrupting the flow of time. The Time Warp Patrol sends Socket on his mission in the year 2902. Gameplay features high-speed running sections, athletic platforming, and labyrinth mazes across seven zones with three segments each; Socket's tail serves as a power cord that requires constant electricity collection via lightning bolts to avoid energy depletion and death. He defeats enemies with frontal kicks and navigates through 21 stages. The game stands out with its unique energy management mechanic and fast-paced speed-based design.
