Penguin Wars

Penguin Wars is a simple 1v1 action sports game on the Game Boy where players select from cute animal characters like the Penguin, Bat, Rabbit, Rat, and Cow to play dodgeball on a table. Each match is best-of-three with a 60-second time limit; players start with five balls each and must throw all ten balls to the opponent's side before time runs out while dodging incoming throws. The different animals have unique stats such as throw strength, ball speed, and stun recovery time. Multiplayer supports up to two players, and there is a single-player story mode where the player progresses through tournaments starting as Riley the penguin, unlocking other characters and locations. The game stands out for its lighthearted cartoonish charm, quick arcade-style gameplay, and replayability with character variety on the portable Game Boy hardware.
