Power Quest

Power Quest is a role-playing-based fighting game where players choose and upgrade one of six unique robot models to battle in tournaments across towns. Gameplay involves real-time 2D battles with special moves, power-ups via parts, and an RPG system of earning money to customize strength, damage, and abilities; story mode is linear with NPC fights leading to the national tournament. Story centers on young modellers defending the sport from a gang of cheaters destroying models, featuring characters like Louis who uses the weak but joke character Borot, plus antagonists General (Gong), Ann (Speed), and Won (Lon). What makes it stand out is the unique fusion of Pokémon-inspired model collection and RPG progression with accessible 2D fighting, local multiplayer via Game Link cable, and the absurd yet heartfelt premise that children settle disputes with robot models instead of fists. The game supports single-player story and two-player modes, with survival after story completion.
