About the Game
Selection: Erabareshi Mono is a first-person RPG developed and published by Kemco for the Game Boy. Players control Prince Theo, the prophesied hero of the kingdom of Riccar. Theo, rescued from an assassination attempt by knight Pascal and raised in secrecy, returns to reclaim the kingdom from his dragon-corrupted father, King Hennessy. He allies with wizards Martel, Shabow, and Camu to collect the Sword of Hope and confronts the dragon threatening the land. Gameplay mixes first-person exploration with turn-based combat and menu-driven menu systems for inventory, spells, and status management. The game features no character creation, starting with basic copper armor and a Probite sword. It stands out for its adventure-RPG hybrid and 1989 release on the new handheld console.
