About the Game

Space Ace is an action-platformer game for the SNES. Players control Dexter, also known as Ace, who must rescue his girlfriend Kimberly from the villain Borf while under the influence of Borf's Infanto Ray, which turns him into a younger, weaker version of himself. Dexter navigates side-scrolling levels by jumping, dodging obstacles and enemies, and collecting items to energize into Ace mode for shooting segments. Some levels use overhead auto-scroll perspectives. The game features full-motion video cutscenes, multiple difficulty settings, and scoring based on performance. It stands out for its faithful adaptation of the 1984 laserdisc arcade classic with Don Bluth animation influences, mixing platforming with shooting and trial-and-error precision jumps.
