About the Game
Stinger is a 1987 NES horizontal/vertical scrolling shooter developed and published by Konami. The player controls one of three bee ships — TwinBee (blue), WinBee (pink), or GwinBee (yellow) — to save Dr. Einstein J. Cinnamon, a genius inventor kidnapped by aliens from planet Attackon. Gameplay alternates between vertical scrolling stages where the player shoots enemies and drops bombs to destroy ground targets, and horizontal scrolling stages. Players earn power-ups by juggling floating bells that change color for speed, double shots, lasers, or shields. It stands out for its unique alternating scrolling mechanics and three playable characters, adding replayability and fun in dogfights and boss battles.
