Super Turrican 2

Super Turrican 2 is a run-and-gun action platformer developed by Factor 5 and published by Ocean Software in 1995 for the SNES. The player controls Turrican, the last survivor of the United Freedom Forces, in his dark redesigned Turrican Assault Suit. Gameplay features linear levels with side-scrolling shooting, a grappling arm to swing and grab power-ups, new Flamethrower weapon, and vehicle segments including dune buggy, space motorcycle, and underwater motojet. Story follows the Machine's invasion of a small star system, with rescue ships sent into a black hole spiral; Turrican must destroy cyborg mercenaries and stop the Machine's transformation of the galaxy into a defense stronghold. Key characters include Turrican (protagonist) and the Machine (final boss). It stands out with Mode 7 effects, pre-rendered cutscenes, and a final Turrican series entry despite simpler structure.
