About the Game

Tarzan - Lord of the Jungle is an unreleased side-scrolling action platformer planned for the SNES in 1994 but cancelled before release. Play as Tarzan, the legendary Lord of the Jungle from Edgar Rice Burroughs' stories, in a few distinct levels set in the African jungle. Explore obstacles, rescue Jane from evil poachers, and defeat various animals using Tarzan's knife (including violent attacks like stabbing a lion). The game was deemed too violent for children by the publisher. A playable prototype ROM was later released in 2019, showing a basic but unfinished side-scrolling adventure with jungle traversal, combat, and cutscenes.
