About the Game

The New Tetris is a classic puzzle game for the Nintendo 64 featuring standard 7 tetromino pieces in a 20x10 grid. Players rotate and drop pieces to form horizontal lines, clearing them for points. New mechanics include a hold piece box, ghost piece preview, wall kicks, and fast piece speed. Unique features are multi-squares (4x4 of mixed pieces for 5x lines) and mono-squares (4x4 of identical pieces for 10x lines). Modes include Marathon (unlimited), Sprint (3 minutes), and Ultra (race to 150 lines). Single-player and multiplayer (up to 4 players with garbage options) are supported. Characters are non-existent; it stands out with developer Easter eggs, Neil Voss's techno soundtrack, and the building 'Wonders' mode that progresses with line clears.
