About the Game

Wave Race is a top-down racing game where players control a jet skier on 16 tracks across multiple locations. Gameplay includes circuit races to the finish line and slalom races that require passing through floating flags in order, with opponents ramming and stealing items. The jet skier handles with floaty water physics, using A, B, and the D-pad to accelerate, steer, and perform jumps over obstacles and currents. There are no named character opponents; the AI racers are generic jet skiers. It stands out for its precise water-based controls and handling on the Game Boy hardware, supporting single-player versus AI or up to four-player multiplayer via the link cable.
