Zaxxon's Motherbase 2000

Zaxxon's Motherbase 2000 is an isometric-scrolling shooter for the Sega 32X in which players pilot the Stinger spaceship through enemy bases and bases to destroy enemy ships and giant robots. Gameplay features rocket boosters for jumping, capturing enemy vessels (which grant secondary weapons and allied ship support), and auto-scrolling stages with boss encounters. The story is that players, as rebels, must destroy the evil Ginglii clan's computer core that enslaves beings from various planets and manufactures weapons. There is no playable character beyond the ship; enemies are insectoid Ginglii ships, robots, and other vessels. What makes it stand out is the innovative ship-hacking system allowing takeover of enemy vessels for unique weapons and cooperative elements in an otherwise standard isometric shooter on the advanced 32X hardware.
