Asterix And The Great Rescue

In Asterix and the Great Rescue, players control Asterix or Obelix in a side-scrolling platformer as they rescue druid Getafix and his dog Dogmatix from Roman captors who are taking over Gaul. Gameplay features side-scrolling platforms, character-switching mid-level (in Master System version), enemy punching, level sets with 30 stages, and varied hazards like animals and environmental traps, with different strengths for each hero such as Astérix's agility and reach versus Obelix's power. Story follows the comic where the village's magic potion is endangered and friends are captured; characters are Asterix, Obelix, Getafix, and Dogmatix.
