About the Game
Body Count on the Sega Mega Drive is a rail shooter where players control a lone soldier defending Earth from an alien invasion. Gameplay involves riding through linear rail tracks in first-person perspective, shooting waves of enemies with power-ups, bombs, and multiple weapons as the soldier advances toward a doomsday bomb while rescuing hostages. After clearing enemies in each stage, players destroy bosses to progress, with branching paths in some levels. It supports 1-2 players (one using the Menacer light gun for precise aiming). The story is simple: the soldier fights back against the alien threat. It stands out for being one of the few Genesis games utilizing the Menacer light gun for immersive aiming, with adaptable controls and a fast-paced arcade shooter feel that emphasizes quick reflexes and survival against endless hordes.
