About the Game
Dark Half is a turn-based tactical RPG for the Super Famicom. In the story, the young paladin Falco and the vengeful demon lord Rukyu (the Fallen One) serve as protagonists and antagonists in alternating chapters, each pursuing their own goals across a shared world. Falco gathers a party of warriors and defeats monsters to stop Rukyu's genocidal plans, while Rukyu summons computer-controlled beasts and casts soul-powered spells after claiming innocent lives. The standout mechanics include the zapping system that switches control every chapter (with a final choice in chapter 13 deciding the ending), a simple but effective battle system with no flashy effects, and a macabre horror atmosphere in 3/4 isometric views featuring oppressive music and painterly art.
