About the Game
Legend of Chu Liuxiang (大侠客楚留香) is a classic martial arts action RPG for NES/Famicom by Mars Electronics. Players control Chu Liuxiang (楚留香), the legendary thief and 'shuai' (handsome rogue), solving mysterious cases, battling villains, and uncovering clues from wuxia novels like Gu Long's works. Gameplay mixes exploration, puzzle-solving (cracking riddles to reveal truths), and turn-based combat where players learn special moves such as Tan Huo Shen Gong (弹指神功). The story involves Jianghu intrigue, gang rivalries, romance, and moral dilemmas as Chu Liuxiang navigates justice and adventure. It stands out for faithfully capturing the suspenseful, clever detective atmosphere of Gu Long's novels, blending action with puzzle elements in a retro pixel style.
