About the Game

Jajamaru Ninpou Chou is a turn-based RPG for the Famicom and a Dragon Quest clone. The player controls ninja Jajamaru (or Taro in US version) and Princess Sakura on quests to recover the stolen Book of Ninja from yokai like Karasu Tengu. Battles are simple: choose Fight, Magic, Item, Run or Defend against single foes. There are three chapters plus a final one, with level-ups teaching skills from Buddha. The game stands out for its simple mechanics, cute characters and short-length adventure in a feudal Japanese setting.
