About the Game

Metal Force is an unlicensed action-platformer for the NES/Famicom. Players control the robot protagonist Metal Force, dispatched by the Earth Federation to reclaim a newly colonized alien planet seized by rebels. Gameplay involves side-scrolling levels where Metal Force jumps and fires one of two projectile weapons: a boomerang that arcs overhead or a straight-ahead laser beam. Capsules swap weapons, and there is one power-up that increases fire rate with more projectiles. The game features standard NES mechanics with health pickups, extra lives, and continue items. It stands out as a serviceable Mega Man-like platformer with its own mechanics, high-tech sci-fi theme, and solid unlicensed execution.
