About the Game
Shien - The Blade Chaser is the Japanese version of the rail shooter Shien's Revenge. Players assume the role of ninja Shien in a first-person perspective where movement is automatic horizontally or vertically. The game features six stages, each ending with a boss fight to progress. The story follows Shien searching for his companion Aska, kidnapped by the mysterious Undertaker after monsters from a time portal attack. Shien and Aska are skilled ninjas in a civil war, using ninja stars and special abilities like Aska's mind control. What makes it stand out is its crosshair-based shooting with projectile blocking and slashing mechanics.
