About the Game

Silkworm is a horizontally scrolling shooter where players control a jeep and a helicopter in coordinated attacks against waves of enemy vehicles, aircraft, and ground forces. Gameplay features distinct vehicle mechanics: the helicopter fires forward and downward while maneuvering freely, and the jeep drives on the ground, jumps obstacles, spins its cannon for rear attacks, and can carry and rescue comrades. The plot follows a supercomputer that has reprogrammed military hardware to turn on humanity, requiring players to protect the world by destroying its forces. Characters include the player-piloted jeep and helicopter pilots with no named individuals, but rescued hostages who can be carried or re-collected. Modes include single-player (choosing one vehicle) and local multiplayer (one per vehicle). What makes it stand out is its chaotic co-op design, where synchronized play is essential for survival, with nonstop action, ammo management, and strategic positioning on the NES.
