About the Game

Squirrel King is a platformer for the Sega Mega Drive, an unlicensed game developed by Gamtec and a fan-made clone of Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers. Players control Chip or Dale in co-op 2-player mode across 7 acts with jumping, platforming, and enemy combat. Mechanics include throwing boxes, hiding inside them, and firing fireballs using limited gloves (obtained from boxes); health is managed via med-kits and acorns, with 4 lives and up to 5 continues. The story follows the rescue of woodland animals from traps set by enemy Barnett. It stands out for its 2-player cooperative play and faithful but enhanced mechanics inspired by the classic rodent adventure.
