About the Game

Super Scope 6 is a 6-in-1 lightgun shooter compilation for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Nintendo R&D1 and published by Nintendo in February 1992. It requires the Super Scope peripheral and features three grouped minigames: Blastris and LazerBlazer. Blastris A is a Tetris-style puzzle mode where players shoot blocks to form vertical lines in a 7x10 grid, playable in single or two-player cooperative mode. Blastris B is a Columns-style game where matching colored blocks in lines, columns, or diagonals clears the screen, with metal blocks that cannot be rotated adding challenge. Mole Patrol involves whack-a-mole style target shooting. LazerBlazer includes Intercept, where players shoot down missiles of varying sizes and distances using the lightgun; Engage, a ship-based mode where players destroy enemy fighters and missiles before fuel runs out, with red ships refilling fuel and health; and Confront, an invasion defense mode fighting enemy ships that shoot back. The game stands out as the first lightgun title bundled with the Super Scope, offering a unique tech demo of the peripheral's accuracy with fast-paced, accurate-aiming shooter mechanics across puzzle and combat modes.
