Super Smash TV

Super Smash TV is a top-down twin-stick shooter port of the arcade classic, where players control a contestant in a violent live TV game show called Smash TV. Gameplay involves running through procedurally routeable rooms filled with hordes of enemies, defeating them to earn points and prizes while collecting power-ups like shields, bombs, grenades, rockets, and fast shoes that vanish after five seconds. There are three major studios with ten or more rooms each, plus four bosses (including dual bosses at the end), and optional keys to unlock a 'pleasure room' for bonus girls. Controls are limited on the Master System, making precise movement and simultaneous shooting challenging but fun in two-player mode. The story is set in a 1999 world obsessed with real-life TV violence, with the player as a contestant battling to win the show. What makes it stand out is its arcade-perfect energy adapted to handheld controls, chaotic enemy swarms, and high-score chases despite the port's technical compromises.
