Brandish 2 - The Planet Buster

Brandish 2: The Planet Buster is an action RPG where players control silent swordsman Ares as he escapes prison and navigates rotating dungeons to retrieve his magical sword Planet Buster from the tyrannical King Badorrer of Bundevia. Gameplay features real-time combat with rotating worlds around the forward-facing character, limited-use weapons that break after dozens of strikes, spell casting, stat leveling (balancing physical and magic attacks), simple puzzles, and optional subquests in mazes filled with enemies and demons. Story follows Ares three years after the previous game's events: captured by warlock Karl in the desert and imprisoned, he allies with Dela (a scantily clad sorceress) against the power-mad king seeking the sword's planet-annihilating power. What makes it stand out is its distinctive rotational dungeon mechanics, smoother mouse-supported SNES controls, improved automap, and deeper integration of story with exploration compared to the first game.
