Tales of Phantasia

Tales of Phantasia is an action role-playing game set in the fantasy world of Aselia. Players control Cress Albane, a skilled swordsman seeking vengeance for his destroyed hometown. The party consists of Cress Albane (main swordsman), Chester Burklight (archer), Mint Adenade (summoner), Claus F. Lester (magician), and Arche Klein (mage), each with unique personalities and abilities. Gameplay features the innovative Linear Motion Battle System, where battles occur in real-time side-scrolling arenas allowing full control over Cress while directing party members with simple commands. Exploration involves dungeon crawling, town interactions, and random encounters. The story follows the heroes battling the sorcerer king Dhaos, who time-travels to alter history and prevent the defeat of four legendary warriors.
