Canon - The Legend of the New Gods

Canon - The Legend of the New Gods is a strategy RPG set in ancient Chinese mythology where you play as the legendary archer Hou Yi. The core gameplay involves real-time tactics on a top-down battlefield: select units from your army to move, attack, and cast spells in turn-based sequences. The campaign story follows Hou Yi's mission to combat the ten suns that threaten the world by shooting down nine of them with his bow. Key characters include Hou Yi, Chang'e, and the mythical Jiang Taigong. What makes it stand out is its integration of strategy elements with RPG progression, allowing unit customization, skill trees, and side quests, though the original release was a Taiwan-exclusive port of the 1999 SEGA Genesis title.
