About the Game

Grand Master is an NES action RPG where you play as Rody, an elite bodyguard to the royal family. The story follows Rody defeating the Demon Lord Dante to rescue Princess Serena, then continuing alone to save her after his humiliation. Gameplay is a top-down Zelda-like adventure with RPG elements, including a world map featuring five stages (Castle, Ice Cavern, Limestone Cave, Pyramid, Tower) that require finding keys to open doors and defeat bosses. It features a basic leveling system (up to level 10), HP and MP stats, and tight controls reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda. The small but impactful cast of characters and dramatic cutscenes make it stand out as a rare and fun Western-fantasy action RPG on the NES.
