About the Game

Hot Blood Taigeki is an Action/Adventure/RPG developed by Technos Japan and published by Technos Japan for the NES/Famicom in 1991. Players control Kunio and his sidekick Tsurumatsu through a side-scrolling adventure in Edo-era Japan. The story follows Kunio and Tsurumatsu as they visit a dying nobleman, uncover a conspiracy involving a villain and his son-in-law, rescue a princess, and battle the evil forces in an epic showdown. Combat features punches, kicks, throws, grabs, and special moves purchased from shops with books that grant powerful techniques. Money from defeating enemies funds upgrades, gambling provides extra cash, and the game mixes platforming, RPG progression with levels, hidden shops, and two-player support.
