Heisei Shin Onigashima - Zenpen

Heisei Shin Onigashima - Zenpen is a text-based adventure game. The player controls animal companions Ringo the dog, Matsunosuke the monkey, and Ohana the pheasant in side stories from the classic Momotaro legend. Gameplay features command menus for movement, dialogue, puzzle-solving, and exploration in fairy-tale worlds. The story covers the heroes' origins and adventures up to meeting Donbe and Hikari before the main ogre island quest. Key characters include faithful dog Ringo (whose village is devastated by demons), mischievous monkey Matsunosuke (who helps escape the Yama-uba demon's pot), and the pheasant Ohana. It stands out by retelling Japanese folktales from the animals' perspectives with added peril, no guaranteed happy endings, and magical creatures like giant crabs.
